  • Pork in the Park Ribfest

    Thank you to everyone that came out and enjoyed Pork in the Park Ribfest.  It was a great day for people to come out and enjoy ribs & other good food, craft show and the gun show.  Next year's event will be held on September 14, 2019 at the Merrill Festival Grounds.

    This year's winners were:

    1st Place:  Lone Star BBQ

    2nd Place:  Kurt n Joe's

    3rd Place:  Lamar's BBQ

    People's Choice:  Geiss Meat Products

  • 2018 Chili Blast

    Thank you to everyone that came out and enjoyed the perfect weather for chili.  We had 11 cooks this year - Kathy & Cal's, Angie Hendrickson, Michelle Odegard, Craig Grefe, Kurt Wendt, Corey Nowak, Jeff Hinz, Ed Hoffmaster, The Painted Door and Matt & Jen Seliger.  Plus, a big thank you to our host sites - Courtside Furniture, Johnson's Gifts, Klug's Country Gold, St. Vinnies, Ace Hardware, 7 Oaks Bodyworks & Massage, Masonic Temple, Ye Olde Sweet Shoppe, Kindhearted Home Care, 1st Street Coffee Station, Wave's and The Painted Door. Thank you to everyone who dropped their ballots off.  Here is how you voted:

    The Merrill Chamber has teamed up with Centergy along with Adams County, North Wood County, Portage County, Marathon County and South Wood County to create Inspire Central Wisconsin.  We have teamed up with the local schools and have gotten on board with Career Cruising program.  Career Cruising is a program that school provide for students of what jobs are available in the community with businesses that have registered with Inspire. 

    Inspire helps by using the Career Cruising platform that is used in many schools, to help students explore their options, interests and aspirations through a variety of activities. The Inspire program then provides a platform that engages community volunteers that act as mentors, business owners that provide valuable educational and career data. Eventually the object is to add work based learning through career fairs, shadow days, mentoring and apprenticeships. An important fact is that this program can level the playing field by providing people of all backgrounds, in all areas of the state, equal access to mentors and relevant employers.

    One Way Collision Center/Brickner’s new building is going up!

    Park City Credit Union new location is complete. 501 S. Pine Ridge Ave.  Stop in and visit!

    First Street Coffee Station has opened a second location inside Park City Credit Union new location.

    River Bend Trail now goes east to Cooper Street.

    Stange’s Park new shelter/kitchenette in almost complete.

    Westside Market – stop in and see what deals they have for you!  PLUS, did you know that they are a drop off/pick up spot for dry cleaning!
